Tables of Cruising Levels
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Altimeter Setting Procedures applicable within the WARSZAWA FIR conform with procedures contained in ICAO Doc 8168 - OPS/ 611 volume 1, except differences given in full in point 1.2.
1.2 The QNH altimeter setting is obligatory for flights at or below 2000 m (6500 ft) AMSL within the WARSZAWA FIR airspace.
1.3 The pressure value is given in hPa and - on request - in Hg mm.
1.4 QFE value for indicated aerodrome or the threshold of RWY in use will be given by ATS unit at the request of the crew.
2. PROCEDURES
2.1 For the provision of vertical separation or flight information service ATS units will provide crews with altitudes below transition altitude.
2.2 While flying within military aerodrome traffic zones (MATZ) the QNH setting is obligatory unless otherwise published in local regulations.
2.3 During agrotechnical and/or similar flights conducted within the airspace in the vicinity of the aerodrome (airfield), the altimeter may be set to:
a) QFE at the aerodrome (airfield) assuming that the difference between aerodrome (airfield) elevation and the terrain over which a flight is to be conducted is insignificant and vertical position of the aircraft may be expressed as a height over the aerodrome (airfield).
b) QFE at the terrain over which the flight is to be conducted, if the difference between aerodrome (airfield) elevation and the terrain would affect works to be conducted at other altimeter setting and vertical position of the aircraft may be expressed as a height over this terrain.
2.4 While approaching and landing at a drilling platform located on the water, the altimeter may be set to the atmospheric pressure at the elevation of the platform, assuming that vertical position of the aircraft may be expressed as a height at this platform.
2.5 During acrobatic flights the altimeter may be set to the atmospheric pressure over the terrain over which the flight is to be conducted assuming that vertical position of the aircraft may be expressed as a height over this terrain.
2.6 While flying in the vicinity of AWYs, TMAs or CTRs pilots in command are obliged to contact the appropriate ATS units for altimeter settings instructions.
3. TRANSITION LEVELS WITHIN WARSZAWA FIR
3.1 A common transition level will be established for the whole
WARSZAWA FIR.
3.1.1 Transition level of FL 80 or FL 90 will be established depending on atmospheric pressure distribution within the WARSZAWA FIR.
3.1.2 The current value of QNH and the current transition level are given either in ATS instructions or in ATIS broadcasts.
4. ALTIMETER SETTING PROCEDURES WITHIN RVSM AIRSPACE
Table of cruising levels obligatory within RVSM airspace is published in point ENR 1.7.1.
Where an aircraft's Mode C displayed flight level which differs from the cleared flight level by 90 m (300 ft) or more, the controller should ask the pilot to check the altimeter setting and to confirm the aircraft's present flight level.
TABLE OF CRUISING LEVELS
Poziomy przelotu, które powinny byc stosowane, gdy wymagają tego następujące przepisy:
a) w obszarach, gdzie minimalna separacja pionowa (VSM) 300 m (1000 ft) jest stosowana między FL 290 a FL 410 włącznie: Cruising levels to be observed when so required by the following rules:
a) in the areas, where a vertical separation minimum (VSM) of 300 m (1000 ft) is applied between FL 290 and FL 410 inclusive:
